The Sleeveless Waistcoat

Compensation for this post provided by T.J. Maxx via Mode Media, but all opinions expressed are solely the author’s.
The vest knows no limits for Spring 2015. From printed pieces to the classic black tie affair version, this menswear-inspired trend is the new layering piece for the season. I have teamed up with T.J. Maxx to bring you spring’s hottest trend and chose to talk about this long sleeveless topper.

When asked to partner up with T.J. Maxx, I couldn’t be any more excited because I am a “glass half full” kind of gal, which describes the creative Maxximizer. Their unique and broad assortment always keeps me on trend while maintaining a great price. I already lose track of time while shopping and when I go inside a T.J.Maxx, I spend countless hours in the Contemporary section not allowing myself any time to explore the rest of the versatile departments because it’s closing for the day. I immediately gravitated towards this white sleeveless waistcoat and knew it was the perfect fashion staple that I was missing.

This long sleeveless vest can add a layer of interest to any outfit and it’s the perfect transitional piece for going from season-to-season. For us California natives, the vest can be styled by itself as a top. For colder weather, it can be worn over anything, from dresses to pants. Consider the vest an investment piece for this season and beyond.

I chose to keep my outfit classic because it’s polished enough to take me into an important business meeting during the day and chic enough for after-work cocktails. How else can you wear it? Layer it over a short-sleeve summer dress, wear it over a thin sweater, or over a button-down shirt and some boyfriend jeans.

Xo,
Lillian

Wide Leg & White

Today I am sharing with you my third favorite trend of Spring! It's still denim and it's white.
Denim is everywhere and in my last post, I styled an over sized jacket and here I am styling wide leg jeans. It's totally 70's inspired and I kind of feel like I am a part of "That 70's show" but I am loving it!

White is such a crisp and clean color. It's the perfect transition from your classic muted winter look to a youthful and bright Spring. Since the denim is also a light wash, it compliments the white blazer and also keeps the outfit bold.

Have an amazing weekend!

Lillian

Oversized Denim

We are definitely experiencing warmer weather these past few days! The sunshine and 80 degrees has me all ready for bathing suits and the beach.
As I mentioned in the last post, I love Spring,so today, I will be sharing my second favorite trend of the season, DENIM.

Anything denim has Lillian written all over it. Destroyed, white, flared, jackets, dresses, and so much more! The silhouettes have shifted and over-sized is becoming a key aesthetic in both tops and bottoms. Even denim jackets have gone from being cropped and fitted to longer and bigger.

When I came across this jacket from Forever 21, (link HERE) I couldn't resist! It's a lightly destroyed classic number. Since the silhouette is over-sized, I wanted to pair it with a fitted bottom to keep the proportions balanced. I kept it feminine with a body-con pencil skirt and added your classic white button-up shirt to dress it up. A girl can never own too many white shirts right?
Should I do a YouTube video on the many ways to dress your white-button up shirt up or down for various occasions?

What are your thoughts on the over-sized denim trend?

Lillian

Black & White Gingham

Today's post is all about Spring,
With this past Friday marking the first official day, it was only appropriate to share with you my top 3 trends throughout the week.
I love Spring. The inspiration that comes from the seasons changing, the gorgeous pink flowers everywhere, and of course the clothing and can't forget my BIRTHDAY in May!

This week, I will showcase three of my favorite trends throughout the week and how I style each one.
Let's get started, shall we?
As we all know, plaid is a closet staple for me and what better way to bring it out for Spring than in a gingham print. Plaid tops are now becoming a necessity but I wanted to incorporate how else to style the classic gingham print besides in a top or dress.
A printed bottom is perfect to bring out to change up your wardrobe. Since it's such an extreme of black and white but yet so subtle, I kept the rest of the outfit classic in a button-up shirt and leather.

What are some of your favorite trends right now? Tell me in the comments below!

GINGHAM & SUNFLOWERS

Hello my lovely sunshines!
Today's post is all about you and also this fabulous gingham crepe dress.
First off, I truly wish I could hug all of you and send each and every one a bouquet of flowers.
Although that seems impossible, I hope you know that I am virtually sending you sunflowers to thank you for all of the support, love and encouragement you have given me!

Sunflowers bring life to any gloomy day and I thought it would be the perfect accessory for this gorgeous gingham midi dress. It has such a feminine flare with the length and also was perfect for the beginning of Spring. I paired it with a denim jacket and since it is still fairly chilly out, I threw on a pair of classic pumps.
