Farewell 2014

It's the day before New Year's Eve and that time of the year where I like to take a minute and reflect back on the past 365 days.
2014 has been nothing short of an adventure but I am ready to see what 2015 has in store for me! From Coachella to multiple events and day trips, from learning everything about shooting with a DSLR, to learning how to expand a blog into a brand, it has been nothing but a thankful and exciting journey!

For my reflection, I want to focus on Studs and Sapphires and myself personally.
I started this blog two years ago as a hobby and little did I know that it would grow to become my full-time passion. Using Studs and Sapphires as a creative outlet for my style evolution, I have not only seen myself grow but can not thank those of you who have been supporting me from the beginning enough. I hope to continue to inspire you all and to also encourage those of you who are new to stay and see what is in store for 2015.

Stepping into 2015, I plan to take Studs and Sapphires past our traditional outfit posts.
I plan to showcase more of my personality and have you all see a side of me past the images and writing.
Social and outgoing are two of my strongest characteristics, which I think will be a strong element to add in the new year (hint hint, something special coming soon!)

With all that being said, I want to wish you all a HAPPY NEW YEAR!
It's time to enjoy your time with family, friends, and loved ones.
I wish you all a great day and night and we shall reconnect in the NEW YEAR!

CHEERS!

Xo,
Lillian

Plaid Winter

My love for snow is endless.
As you can tell from my last post, a winter white backdrop is the perfect scenery for a shoot.
In addition to making for an amazing photo, snow completes the Holiday season.

I took out my perfect plaid poncho and paired it with this gorgeous floppy hat.
I tried to dress warm by keeping it simple with the booties.

Have an amazing day!

Lillian

Winter Wonderland

Snow makes for the perfect winter and holiday season.
It can truly transform you into the Christmas spirit while dreaming of a white wonderland.
I spent the weekend in Big Bear and it started to snow right when we arrived.
Being surrounded by palm trees and Southern California weather, the snow was an amazing change.
I threw on my red coat and booties and immediately went to play in the snow.

Trying to look stylish and cute is pretty difficult when it is less than 30 degrees (Fahrenheit).
I paired my red coat with chambray and a black scarf to stay warm. The white snow was the perfect backdrop and change from my usual palm trees.

I hope you all had a great weekend!

Lillian

PASTEL BLUE

This winter season is all about pastel colorways.
Something about pastels and an "icy color palette" reflects a winter wonderland look.
When I saw this pastel blue swing coat from Topshop, I immediately fell in love.
It's an oversized coat that can dress up your casual look and add an instant pop of color.
When I threw this coat on, I wanted to be in Paris roaming the streets and shopping in the cold weather.

Aside from your classic oversized coat, add a pop of pastel to your outfit and you can instantly transform your outfit to look fresh and fun.

White on Black

It's Monday already and I have completely broken the "no white" after Labor Day rule!
There is something so crisp and chic about a white blazer. It instantly brings glamour to an outfit and transforms it into minimal yet sophisticated look.

A blazer is a closet staple and is an item you can color multiply. Classic black for your every day look, white for a sophisticated more chic look, and a pop of color for a bold and fun addition.

I wanted to keep the outfit classy and crisp so I paired it with a white top and black skinnies. I also wanted my accessories to reflect the minimalist look. The silver statement necklace was a last minute addition to make it more dressy and also break the white top from the white blazer.

I can not believe it's December and make sure to follow along on Instagram at @studsandsapphires.
I have some fun giveaways for the Holiday season!

Cobalt Blue Plaid

So Excited to collaborate with Piperlime again in their #Momentsofchic campaign!
Piperlime is the ultimate shopping destination for all of my Internet shopping sprees.
They carry a variety of brands and styles and are always a pleasure to work with!
When I was asked to collaborate with them again, I squealed from excitement.

Although I almost always post my outfits wearing heels, you can find me in flats and ankle booties when I am running daily errands. These Steve Madden Zipster booties were the perfect ankle length to pair with this BB Dakota plaid shift dress. I wanted to accentuate my waist line more so I belted it at the natural waist and added a double breasted jacket to complete the look.

I like starting off the morning with a fresh bouquet of flowers and thought it might be fun to incorporate them into the post. What do you guys think?
I also styled this outfit with classic pumps to show you how you can take it from day to night by just changing shoes.

Xoxo,
Lillian
