Plaid is trending strong this season, and we all know by now that I am mad for plaid. Plaid can be both a daring and classic print, and today I have collaborated with Target to show you two ways to style it. My favorite store and plaid? Can it get any more perfect -- affordable! Target is breaking the rules this fall and showcasing plaid’s versatility in everything from your classic button up shirt to blazers to handbags and accessories. I decided to play by plaid’s rules and also break them in this post.
For my first look, I took plaid to an extreme. I wanted to push my limits and to encourage you to have fun with a plaid-on-plaid look. Grid-check patterns are more versatile because they tend to be limited to only two colorways, such as black and white, making it easier to style them. I opted for a plaid blouse and a plaid blazer. Don’t be afraid to personalize your look and experiment by being a daring rule-breaker for a day. Since I already incorporated two prints into my look, I kept it casual with denim and touches of gold accessories.
If you’re more classic and timeless, I kept my second look more comfortable and confident. Blanket ponchos are definitely the trend this season, and they transform any outfit in for a stylish makeover. It’s a key piece in layering and with this silhouette, the trick is to modernize the rest of your outfit with plain neutrals. I opted for a buffalo plaid poncho with trim cause although classic, it still is a luxurious color block for your everyday gal.
