Button Fronts & Military Vibes

The trend taking over the world is the button front skirts. If I have to play favorites and pick one 70's trend to adopt, it would have to be the A-line button-front skirt. In additional to denim flares, of course! This season, this skirt has been seen in everything from denim and suede to leather and ponte and I am loving it!

This navy two-pocket skirt instantly gave my look a military vibe and I instantly added a beaded collar top to make it more feminine. High necklines are trending recently and I am a big fan! Now if only our temperatures would drop about 20 degrees so I can pair this look with a long over-sized coat!

The Polka Dot Scarf

The skinny scarf - the fall accessory you never knew you were missing. It's not exactly new and Kate Moss has been including it in her wardrobe for the past decade but in my book, I consider it totally new. I love the sudden rush of excitement for accessories that comes with fall and the skinny scarf has stolen the spotlight for me! Although it's not very practical, such as providing warmth, it adds interest to anything!

I chose a crisp white blouse for a rainy day and added the polka dot scarf as an interest to add some flare to the whole look. This accessory is so versatile and can be worn in many ways. I chose to center it a the nape of my neck, wrap it around once, and tie it in a bow. The ends were hanging freely but since it was a print, it gave the look an illusion of a dimensional button-up shirt.

What are your thoughts on this trend?

Boot Season Is Upon Us

It rained yesterday and although it was for a short while, it finally felt like fall. The crisp weather and cool afternoon allowed me to bring out my boots and I was so excited! Los Angeles gives off a boho chic vibe and I couldn't help myself but to channel my inner boho girl for a rainy day.

Suede is everywhere right now and has replaced most leather pieces. Leather is classic and timeless come fall/winter but this season, suede has replaced classic leather in many ways. It's a hit fabric currently and its versatility allows you to style it per personality and age.

In addition to suede, the turtleneck should be your next purchase! This high-neck knit has been seen on every single runway in both fine and chunky cable knits. I played up the turtleneck with a mini skirt to play with proportions and keep it sophisticated yet soft.

What are your thoughts on the turtleneck and will you be investing in a suede piece this season?
