The Cable Knit Sweater

It's definitely sweater season.
The cable knit sweater, also known as The Fisherman's Sweater, is everywhere and I can't seem to get enough. It's a timeless classic that reflects a preppy and all-American look, which makes it more fun to reinvent to fit your own personal style.

Its oversized nature is everything so I decided to balance it out with an a-line mini skirt to keep it body-conscious on the bottom. I chose red to make the cable knit pattern in ivory pop more and paired it with classic black pumps.

Cozy up this Fall with a classic and comfortable heritage staple.

Fall Essentials

It's mid October and I can't hold off the outerwear anymore.
Living in Los Angeles makes it tough to bring out scarves, boots, and your long boyfriend coats. I truly believe we have summer 10 months of the year. (can't complain!)
Although, it does make one miss a real fall/winter season with the leaves changing, cooler weather and snow during the Holiday season.

Even if the weather did not permit, I chose to bring out my new boyfriend coat out for a Sunday filled with adventure. I kept the outfit monochromatic in black and white and accessorized in silver.
I hope you all had an amazing weekend!

Fall Coats

It's no secret that I am obsessed with Fall and anything that has to do with it. I could look at coats and buy them in all lengths and patterns all day every day.
I am always on the hunt for an amazing coat to last me through any season so I wanted to share my favorites and some of the big trends with you.
Can you tell I can't get enough?

The trench coat has evolved! Your classic taupe trench coat will always be a staple but it's here to stay in longer lengths and in fun colors.

Trench: 1, 2, 3, 4

Anything with with a pattern is an absolute love for me from the start. With cooler weather and muted colors, a fun print in a plaid or stripes can make any outfit pop!

Patterns: 1, 2, 3, 4

Then of course, you have your classics. Burgundy is a classic color for Fall as well as camel. The double breasted black pea coat and in a tweed texture is a definite staple as well.

Classics: 1, 2, 3, 4

Have a great weekend!

The Plaid Sweater

Plaid, plaid and some more plaid.
It's safe to say plaid has grown to become an obsession and definitely my favorite print of the season.
It has evolved from your classic tartan plaid shirt to sweaters, skirts, scarves and so much more!

A cozy knit makes for the perfect go-to outfit on a lazy Sunday.
I completed my my look with flared bottoms and kept my accessories simple with gold accents.
This piece is versatile and I will definitely be styling it more once the weather cools down more.

I hope you all are having an amazing week!
Thank you so much for all of the love and endless support.

The Structured & Distressed Boyfriend

Structure and black defines chic for me.
Think blazers, your classic button up shirt, and tailored pieces.
Nonetheless, pairing it with a more slouchy bottom can take your outfit from polished to street chic.

The "boyfriend" silhouette has evolved and changed my wardrobe. It can be found in over-sized shirts, distressed and slouchy bottoms, to longer outerwear pieces.

This boyfriend inspired pea coat is definitely going to be one of m y favorites for the season!
I paired it with my go-to distressed jeans and a structure button up to give my wardrobe a mixture of refined meets grunge feminine.

Embellished Denim

Denim has grown to become my best friend.
Aside from jewelry, which is my first love, chambray has been quick to move up the list and become a part of my every day wardrobe.

I love a good denim shirt and I can't help myself but to buy it in every wash and silhouette that I come across. This embellished denim shirt was the perfect addition to my closet. It's still a masculine over-sized silhouette but the embellished jewels give it a feminine touch.
It's gorgeous and I can not lie.
I paired it with a fluted mini skirt in a dark olive color. This skirt gives the outfit the perfect balance between laid-back and polished.

Obsessed with red much? I could have told you that. It's definitely a favorite color of mine and makes any outfit pop. This is my perfect idea of an everyday look. I wear it to run daily errands, coffee dates, and it can even be transformed into a 'day to night' look.
Think sporty meets refined tailoring.

Have fun styling your chambray! I would love to see how you style yours. Tag me on Instagram at @Studsandsapphires for me to see your looks.

Moments of Chic

When Piperlime asked me to participate in their Moments of Chic campaign, I squealed from excitement!
Piperlime is not only one of my favorite online shopping destinations, but their offering includes a unique mix of products, labels, and price points. It's the perfect site that features exclusive tips on how to wear the season's trends and also allows you to build an entire collection for the social-savvy fashionista.

I am wearing a feminine Cooper & Ella Blouse with a cutout floral detail at the front neck line. The relaxed silhouette allows you to pair this classic piece for any occasion. I styled it with this gorgeous abstract Piperlime Collection skirt. I love the subtle pleat detailing at the waist and how it can be dressed up or down. It's a great versatile piece! I paired my outfit with a red Rebecca Minkoff handbag to pop in a bold color and kept my accessories in gold accents.
Since this season is all about hats, I couldn't help myself but to complete this Fall outfit with a black wide-brimmed hat.
What are some of your favorite pieces for Fall? I would love to know what you are currently lusting over!

Angora & Sheer Insets

Angora sweaters. Leather. Hats.
I am definitely in sweater weather mood.
Angora and eyelash sweater yarns are trending this season. The soft and plush look can definitely be paired with a pair of jeans but also dressed up with pencil skirts and leather.
I paired it today with my favorite ponte skirt and added a hat to accessorize with.
Hats are going to play a major role in winter dressing this season, which is something new I am going to try.
What new Fall item are you obsessing over or would like to try?
I would love to know.
I hope you all are having a great week.

Good luck!
